Announcing The Finalists Of The 2019 UHM Online Singing Competition (1st Edition)

We are sending a huge appreciation to all who participated in our online singing contest and helped make it a success!

A special congratulations  also to the  Ultimate Hypermediass Online Singing Competition  1st edition winner Juni, as well as the first runner up Lyricasper, second runner up Princess Stephen, third runner up Nathaniel Praise, and the fourth runner up Anaro Ogheneyome Redemption.


Below are the finalists (winner inclusively) video entry and responses gotten from an interview session with some of them.

1. Juni

Juni received 457 votes, the most of any entrant, and has been crowned the winner of the 2019 Ultimate Hypermediass Online Singing Contest! Below are some of his responses when we interrogated him.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Innocent Etukudoh. I'm from Akwa Ibom state. I base in Port-Harcourt. I'm into music production and also a rapper and a singer.

Who is your idol?

Sam Smith, Joyner Lucas, and Burna Boy.

What's your ambition in life?

Actually, I want to be a popular artist, I want to be a movie director, a screenwriter...

Which type of music do you like?

I like the type of music I do. Dance hall, Hip hop, Afro beats, Blues...

How did you feel throughout the competition?

At first I was like how am I going to be online? I stayed all through the night till the next morning trying to get people to vote for me. So, it was stressful. I was struggling,  and I tried to subscribe in order to be online all through. I talked to anybody I see on the road to vote for me...

Have you ever performed in an online competition? 

Yes, I have performed...

How did you feel during the winning moment?

Actually I expected it. So, I wasn't surprised.

What was UHM jury like?

It was cool. The arrangement was okay. Having sympathy for the contestants... adding extra twenty days... The set up was also cool...

Who supported you most to become a singer?

My elder brother. Actually, everybody in my family love music...

Who would you like to thank?

At first, thank you Ultimate Hypermediass, and all glory belongs to God. Thanks for the opportunity for having young artists submit their video. This will actually make us to think about what's next...

What's your message to upcoming singers?

There's something in music that people need to look. Music is something you do in your life. Some do it as a job, some do it as a hobby. So, be focused on what you are doing it for. If you are doing it as a hobby or as a job, it doesn't matter where you are or how far you have gone, just be happy with yourself. Don't feel frustrated if nothing good is coming, because surely one day it's gonna happen and the world will hear you. So, don't stop trying harder. Just keep pushing.

2. Lyricasper

Lyricasper received 175 votes, and he is the first runner up. Read his responses below.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Pascal Dominic born on August 13th. My stage name is Lyricasper. I'm a musical artist born in Gombe state from Anambra. I started writing my songs in jss1 when I was ten (10). I had my primary school in Zenith International College in Gombe state.

Who is your idol?

I really don't have one.

What is your ambition in life?

I really love music so much, so I just wanna make music for the world.

How was it participating in an online contest?

It was fun.

3. Princess Stephen

Tell us about yourself.

I'm princess Stephen, the second child of my parents. I'm 16 years old. My best colour is pink. My hobbies are singing, spoken words, writing stories, and acting. I'm from Delta state but reside in Port-Harcourt.

Who is your idol?

I don't really have one.

What is your ambition in life?

I aspire to be a mechanical engineer. And one of my biggest aim I wanna achieve is to be a musician.

How was it participating in an online setting?

At first it was kinda okay to me because you don't really need to stress yourself, but after some while it wasn't okay because I always wanted the audience to feel that vibe and passion in me.

Have you ever participated in an online competition?

Yea.

What was UHM jury like?

Hmmmm... It was kinda weird with the judgement.

Who supported you most to become a singer?

My friends.

Which type of music do you like most?

Gospel and reggae.

Are you confident about your future and career?

Yes.

How do you feel being the second runner up?

I feel good though. It's actually a great privilege of making people know that greater things are coming my way. And, I'm different amongst all.

How did you feel throughout the competition?

I never felt discouraged.

Who would you like to thank?

I will like to thank Mr. Jenkins especially because he really impacted so much on me. I still want to thank my brother, friends, and my parents.

What's your message to upcoming singers?

They should never be discouraged in any good  step they take. They should keep on showing the world how awesome they have become. And, that nothing is better than chasing your dreams.

4. Nathaniel Praise

I'm Nathaniel praise from Edo state, a Gospel Minister, and a caring and lovely person.

Who is your idol?

Nathaniel Bassey and Tim Godfrey.

What is your ambition in life?

To know God more and more as well as for His presence to abide in me always.

How was it participating in an online contest?

It was nice and it made me have new friends and know some persons.

Have you ever participated in an online competition?

No.

What was UHM jury like?

Educating and good.

Who supported you most to become a singer?

The Holy Spirit.

Which type of music do you like most?

Gospel music.

Are you confident about your future and career?

Yes. Why not? It's in the hands of God.

How do you feel being the third runner up?

I feel happy. And the next one I will try my best.

Good.
